News

This week is New Homes Week – an annual campaign, supported by the Home Builders Federation, highlighting some of the many advantages of buying a new-build home.

Over the coming days, the New Homes Week team will be sharing latest news and tips about new homes, covering everything from sustainability, ways to buy and protection for your home.

One of the biggest benefits of buying new is the 10 Year Warranty which covers you for most structural defects as well as more minor snagging items. Find out more about why warranties matter in our Home Warranties Explained blog.

But it’s not just warranty protection that makes buying new-build homes such a bonus. With the Consumer Code for Home Builders, which applies to 95% of new build homes in the UK, you benefit from consumer protection from the moment you sign a reservation agreement until two years after you complete on your home. Our Code is there to make sure the buying and selling process is transparent and fair, so you understand what you’re buying, what the related costs are and how to resolve any issues should they arise. You’re even protected from gazumping when buying new.

Take a look at our short video on how the Code can help you during your purchase.

And if you’ve been inspired during #NewHomesWeek, don’t forget to use our ‘Top ten questions to ask your builder’ to make sure you know what to expect and how to access support if you need it.
