The New Homes Quality Board, set up in response to Government plans to strengthen consumer redress in the housing market, has launched a consultation on its draft Code of Conduct. Responses are invited until the closing date of 7 July 2021.

The intention is that the New Homes Code will replace the existing Codes currently in place covering new build homes, including the Consumer Code for Home Builders (CCHB). The draft Code has been developed with support from the CCHB’s Management Board as well as other representatives, consumer groups and existing Code bodies across the industry.

The CCHB will prepare a response to the consultation which is likely to include highlighting  any areas which could affect a clear transition to the new arrangements (if applicable), so that there is continuity in the support offered to consumers.

We encourage all those affected to review the draft New Homes Code and respond to the consultation. Full details can be found on the New Homes Quality Board website: https://www.nhqb.org.uk/new-homes-quality-code-consultation/
